About Utopia EMS
The mission of Utopia Volunteer EMS is to provide civic services through the organized efforts of the men and women of the community to promote the welfare of the community and its citizens by providing volunteer emergency ambulance services to Utopia and its vicinity. We will also provide emergency medical training to the members of the corporation in order that they may better serve the community in providing emergency ambulance services.

A few of our founding members included Jody Rutherford, John & Judy Hillis, Faye Rainey, and Maryann Coffman. We have a service area of 457.31 square miles, about 1/3 the area of Rhode Island.
From 1976 through 2006, Utopia EMS was 100% volunteer. Today we're a mixture of Volunteer and Paid members consisting of every level of trained medics.
We have 3 fully operational BLS units with MICU capabilities. Our members meet monthly for continuing education classes in order to stay current with their State of Texas' licensure as well as National Registration.
